Wanted to share some good news I received yesterday. I have been selected to offer my Reiki Class at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD in February! It is one of many programs they are providing during CORE WEEK (stands for Conditioning and Relaxation) for employees and guests of NIH. Way cool, eh? What an honor!

Kirlian Photography
Since Reiki is about energy, and my practice is to be aware of what energy I am both receiving a projecting, I dug out the Kirlian Photo I had taken a little over a year ago to use as a touchstone.
The day this photo was taken I was in the middle of a trip to Oregon where I was facilitating a couple of VisionBoard workshops. Whenever I travel I make it a point to visit the local botanical garden and a new age shop. Both places never fail to recharge me when I'm in unfamiliar territory.
On a whim I decided to have this photo taken. When I was shown the photo I had no idea what it meant, yet I felt a surge of knowing it was an accurate gauge of where I was energetically that day.
As I was checking out, the clerk told me he wanted to gift me with a crystal. As he placed it in my hands he told me it was a double terminated Tibetan smoky quartz which helps with our ability to give and receive Divine Energy.
I was stunned silent. Here was this person I'd never seen before gifting me with this huge crystal that emanated this wonderful energy? Once I recovered my composure I thanked him profusely. He did not reference the photo at all, yet as I was reading the interpretation in my car a few moments later I felt it was his way of supporting my path.
I realize there is lots of debate around Kirlian Photography. What I know for sure is we can find "proof" for whatever "truth" we choose to align with. That's one of the best things about being alive!
As for me? I want to enjoy being alive. So I purposely look for reasons to do so. This picture helps me to stay connected to what I want.

The Practice
Today the practice is noticing when my thoughts wander to worry.
Each time this happens I take a take a deep, cleansing breath to become present, connect with All That Is, and align myself with It.
When I feel my balance restored, I will choose what to DO next....

Reiki I Training Class
Happy mid-week!
Just a spring is a time of renewal, fall is one of transition. I'm pleased to announce that I have decided to focus my personal and professional energy on Reiki. The transition has been easy and effortless, even though it consumes every waking moment of my days. This is a Good Thing though, because I know from experience it means I am right where I'm supposed to be Right Now.

Reiki Treatments
Women Supporting Women is a local non-profit that supports women with breast cancer from diagnosis through the healing process and beyond. Several close friends and family have stepped through the fire that is breast cancer and survived. All of them cite WSW as one of the reasons they were able to stay sane.
In honor of my peeps, and as a way to pay it forward for someone else to have the same opportunity I'm donating $5 from each Reiki Treatment I give during October to Women Supporting Women.

What's Coming Up
In Reiki tradition, practitioners often offer regular Reiki Shares where members of the public can come to be introduced to Reiki, or if you already practice Reiki, a Reiki Share is a place where you can deepen your connection to Reiki energy. I'm committed to facilitating two Reiki Shares per month and I'm really enjoying it. Everyone who attends will get lots of hands-on practice in sensing the flow of Reiki energy.
The first Thursday of each month I'll be at the south end of my county, and the last Tuesday I'll facilitate a Share at the north end. Of course I'm open to travel from Maine to Spain as well! Maybe we can set something up in your neck of the woods?
Just when I was thinking this schedule would spread things out, it just-so happens that next week both shares will be going on. Boy-oh-boy the energy's goin' to be flowing! Hope to see you there...
